Irish owned I.T. Alliance has established an Information
Worker Practice due to the significant growth in data
overload in today’s constant messaging environment. The
Information Worker Competency Centre will be headed up by
Graham Quinn of I.T. Alliance who has 13 years’ technical
knowledge in the IT industry.
Information Worker is a
paperless solution that allows employees to share data much
more easily by creating and accessing web portals. It
enables organisations to gain better control over knowledge
management and obtain more insight over their content. It
runs on Microsoft technology and is called Sharepoint.
Graham Quinn explains,
“There is major potential for Irish organisations to adopt
Information Worker as it can significantly reduce the paper
footprint. Documents are much more quickly retrieved in
digital format. It can also break down information into more
manageable tasks and allows for more effective searches
online. We need to eliminate the days of searching for a
document buried under a pile of paper.”
Information Worker is targeted both at larger companies
within the public and financial sector but also aimed at
SMEs. It can be integrated into any company’s back-office
elements. Employees can access these web portals using a
self service facility which saves time and also the expense
of phoning call-centres.
Before joining I.T. Alliance in 2006 as Information Worker
Principal, Graham worked as a solutions architect and
technical advisor for Local Government for five years.
During this period he focused on the design, development and
implementation of Intranet and Internet solutions within the
government space using the Microsoft Server product suites
and Dot Net technologies. For the previous six years he was
working with Digital/Compaq as a technical architect/senior
software developer.
Graham holds a B.Sc (HONS) in Computing Science awarded by
HETAC. Recently he helped IT Alliance gain the Information
Worker Solutions Competency accreditation with Microsoft
under their Gold Partnership. |
